Internship Title: CRESST II - Unified Database for Astronomical Multimessenger Alert System

Dates of Internship: Monday, June 3rd – Friday, August 9th; 10-weeks; 40 hrs./week (start and end date are negotiable).

Internship Description: General-Coordinates Network (GCN) is a public collaboration platform run by NASA for the astronomy research community to share alerts and rapid communications about high-energy, multimessenger, and transient phenomena. GCN comprises two primary data products: GCN notices and circulars. Notices are automated yet originating from various missions worldwide, each with unique formats. The primary objective is to unify the diverse astronomical notices formats. Recently, we transitioned to a Unified Schema for all missions and are now moving towards standardizing all notices into a single JSON format, facilitating easier correlation studies.

This project holds relevance for both existing and upcoming missions dedicated to transient phenomena within the field of astronomy.
