    GENERAL SUMMARY: Possesses an advanced carpentry skill set and is recognized for their ability to take initiative on the work site. Able to foresee what comes next on a project and work efficiently and productively throughout the day, confidently and successfully building walls, installing windows and doors, and installing siding. An asset to the Master Carpenter, when asked to do tasks, does so confidently. Demonstrates a commitment to the trade through an investment in their tools. Proficient at all Carpenter skills.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Skill Level

      • Install windows, both replacement and new (nail flange type)
      • Install doors, interior & exterior
      • Build and install an interior and exterior doorjamb; install a slab door, (mortise hinges, lock, etc.)
      • Install all door hardware
      • Install trim and baseboard
      • Install custom cabinetry and millwork, including crown molding
      • Know how to install steel studs and related components
      • Properly apply flashing details
      • Complete small jobs and punch lists effectively and without supervision
      • Know tool & material terminology
      • Know the basics of how to square up floor and roof surfaces and walls
      • Able to lay out and install all sidings (including J-channel, corner posts, etc.)
      • Learn how to frame a roof (all types)
      • Learn how to build steps (all types)
      • Learn how to build deck and stair railings
      • Learn how to read architectural plans
      • Create forms for concrete and learn to finish concrete
      • Complete small jobs and punch lists effectively and without supervision
    • Work Environment

      • Must be able to talk, hear, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, reach with hands and arms. and use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel
      • Endure exposure to outdoor weather conditions and possible extreme temperatures, loud noise, fumes, and moving machinery
      • Must be able to lift 50+ pounds, with or without assistance
      • Must have a valid drivers license and insurance
      • Must have a functioning vehicle
