Summary
The Senior Procurement Administrator shall coordinate the procurement of services, materials, and equipment for the organization. They shall be responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of the procurement process, from requisition though contract close-out, including all contract administration activities. Additionally, they will be responsible for providing direct reports and detailed analysis to management on an ongoing basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Draft solicitation packages;
Identify potential suppliers and bidders;
Meet with vendors and visit vendor sites for tours as appropriate;
Conduct a vetting process for new suppliers and bidders to determine or verify qualifications;
Issue solicitation packages and addenda;
Negotiate contracts and change orders;
Prepare contracts and change order recommendations;
Track contract deliverables and contractor responsibilities to ensure acceptable performance;
Coordinate with the Logistics Department staff to expedite deliverables as necessary;
Monitor and report on contract spend, deliverables, and acceptance and rejection rates;
Monitor and report on vendor management;
Monitor DBE and Buy America compliance;
Provide recommendations for process improvements in the supply chain;
Assist with drafting policies and procedures within the Department;
Conduct training for all internal customers on related policies and procedures;
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Travel Requirements
Some domestic travel may be necessary to visit vendors or potential vendors.
Education and Experience
Required
Bachelor’s degree in a Procurement/Logistics or business-related field
Seven years of work experience in transit procurement
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
Strong working knowledge of formal and informal procurement procedures.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with project management software (e.g. Microsoft Project) and project management skills.
Strong presentation skills.
Preferred
Master’s degree in a business-related field
Ten years of work experience in transit procurement
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
