    Summary

    Develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods, and controls.

    Develop written manufacturing instructions. Provide support for the production department in the build and investigation of technical issues, which may require the development of tooling, fixture, equipment and shop cell layout. Ensure the technical conformity of all products to the required customer specifications.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Responsible for process management and improvement of cable/wire routing, crimping, connection and termination on rolling stocks. Build a foolproof method into the processes.

    Responsible for drafting work instructions of electrical processes. Collect necessary information by communicating with floor workers and taking photos onsite, then add them to the work instructions.

    Responsible for process management and improvement of continuity test, megger test and hi-pot test on rolling stocks. Draft relevant process documents or work instructions.

    Responsible for receipt, interpretation, conversion and distribution of technician change notices and update process documents accordingly.

    Responsible for creating and maintaining BOM, list of tools and equipment and list of drawings.

    Responsible for guiding the electrical work team to solve problems occurred during production.

    Assist train commissioning.

    Responsible for root cause analysis of product quality issues.

    Responsible for technical communication with representatives from vendors.

    Perform other duties as assigned.

    Travel

    Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be necessary. The average travel time will be less than 20%.

    Education and/or Experience

    Required Skills/Experience

    Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Control/Automation Engineering from an accredited College or University

    Three to five years of relevant cable routing, wiring, termination, continuity test, megger test and hi-pot test experience with strong learning ability.

    Ability to read and understand manufacture drawings such as electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, wire termination diagrams.

    Be familiar with selection of high/low voltage cables/wires, terminals, connectors, crimping and assembling connectors.

    Experience with working in environments with live voltages present with proper PPE.

    Experience with use of electrical instruments and equipment such as multimeter, oscilloscope, megger, hi-pot test equipment, etc.

    Working knowledge of various software programs such as AutoCAD, Solidworks, CATIA, Visio. High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

    Strong technical writing skill to compile and revise technical documents.

    Strong face to face communication skill. Job requires frequent communication with production workers and other production supporting departments such as quality, procurement, logistics.

    Preferred Skills/Experiences

    Relevant work experience in railroad and/or transportation industry

    Experience with ERP system
