    Summary

    The manufacturing engineer develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls; coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    To be a leader of first product realization for passenger rail cars mechanical system manufacturing.

    Carries out process improvement, problem resolution, project management and employee training.

    Prepare MBOM, process sequence & assembly instructions for the allotted Mechanical manufacturing area.

    Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.

    Develop detailed work instructions and drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics for Mechanical assemblies. Manage all documents control, special process, flow charts.

    Directs and coordinates installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.

    Plans and directs engineering personnel in routing and test control apparatus and equipment, and development of methods and procedures for testing products or systems.

    Troubleshoots production or design flaws and works with design engineers within Parent Company to resolve.

    Evaluates field installations and recommends design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.

    Improves manufacturing processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement and efficiency.

    Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.

    Identify manufacturing hours, tooling cost, manpower requirement, jigs & tooling requirement for the final assembly manufacturing for new projects in coordination with concerned functions.

    Develop tooling, fixtures, and shop cell layouts to facilitate the manufacturing.

    Designs, develops and tests and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.

    Coordinate with QA Manager and implement quality control objectives, activities or procedures to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, or minimize costs.

    Coordinates operation, maintenance, and repair activities to obtain optimum utilization of machines and equipment.

    Confer with clients, vendors, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, product and production specifications, manufacturing capabilities, or project status.

    Follow-up and post-delivery activities, which may include customer/Supplier meetings, process improvement initiatives.

    Education and Experience

    Required:

    Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.

    Three (3) - Five (5) years related experience and/or training; or

    An equivalent combination of education and experience

    Working knowledge of various software programs such as:

    Visio

    AutoCAD

    Autodesk

    MATLAB

    CATIA

    Solid Works Design

    MS Excel

    MS Word

    Preferred:

    Five (5) – Seven (7) years related work experience and/or training; or

    Equivalent combination of education and experience
