Summary
Develop and maintaining production quality standards. Defining requirements for new products, monitoring production quality performance to identify opportunities for improvement, and carrying out of the maintenance of quality files, procedures, and work instructions for proper adherence to the quality system.
Inspect product materials, mechanics and electrical systems. Verify product dimensions, color, texture and strength and locate imperfections. Verify that parts move correctly and test the proper fit of components. Check the flow of electricity and ensure the proper operation of equipment and machinery.

Perform electrical inspections, set quality assurance testing analysis, inspect the purchased product, truck components or systems
Implement, follow standardized Quality policies, work instructions and test procedures
Assist with training, ensure documentation is completed and test data is analyzed
Prepare, perform and document supplier test procedures
Conduct testing and/or audits and take appropriate actions to ensure goals are achieved
Implement, follow and maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System
Manage quality activity schedules, quality procedures and safety processes
Consistently demonstrate understanding of quality processes
Support internal inspections
Interface with production teams and share information, such as quality issues
Maintain and comply with all regulatory compliances such as FRA, OSHA, EPA, and ISO etc.
Follow all company policies, procedures and safety rules
Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition
60%-80% working in a manufacturing environment
20%-40% office environment
Other duties as assigned
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected
Education and/or Experience
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or High School Diploma with at least 10 years hands-on manufacturing or quality engineering experience.
Three (3) to Five (5) years of hands-on electrical testing experience
One (1) to Three (3) yeas of locomotive or aerospace or heavy-duty trucking manufacturing experience
Strong knowledge of electrical defects and the ability to inspect to the given specification
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
Strong knowledge of metrology
Strong communication skills, both written and oral
Strong documentation, planning and organizational skills
Strong computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Preferred
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a strong knowledge of Quality Assurance
Five (5) to Seven (7) years of Quality Electrical Engineering experience.
Extensive knowledge of electrical defects and the ability to inspect to given specification
Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
Certified Quality Inspector (CQI)
Knowledge of Solid Works (CAD)
