FULL TIME BAKER
Location:
Crust is a specialty, vegan bakery located on Main Street in the NW Philadelphia neighborhood of Manayunk. This position is for our commercial kitchen in Manayunk just up the road from our storefront.

Pay rate, Healthcare, and PTO:
Base pay starts at $14/hr, with the possibility of a raise 6 months later. Tips are split equally among all staff (based on the number of hours worked each week), and average an additional $2 - 4/hr. After a three month probationary period, new employees receive up to 24 hours of Paid Time Off, 40 hours of Sick Time, and access to a free telehealth plan provided by Crust.
Schedule:
40 hours/week with a set schedule of:
Monday - Thursday: 7am - 3pm
Saturday: 7am - 3pm
“But do I have to be vegan to work here?”
While we do not require our staff to be vegan, we are a kosher certified bakery, so any food or beverage brought to work must follow kosher guidelines and therefore must be vegan.

Duties include:
Measuring, weighing, and combining ingredients using large mixers and other equipment
Following recipes
Monitoring items during baking, oven temperatures, and other equipment
Ensuring that food surfaces and equipment meet health and safety standards
Cleaning and sanitizing workstations
Taking and managing daily inventories
Maintaining daily par of baked goods
Packaging catering orders
Dishwashing and other cleaning as needed
This role asks that you:
Have prior baking experience
Are a team player with excellent communication skills

Are able to follow directions, multi-task, and pay attention to detail
Keep a clean & organized work-station
Are able to stand and work on your feet for extended periods of time
Are able to lift 30-50 pounds regularly
Have a basic knowledge of food safety
Pluses:
Experience in a high-volume kitchen (bakery or restaurant)
Servsafe certified
