Position Summary
Option to Success Inc. is seeking compassionate, dependable, and alert Third Shift Residential Counselors to join our team. Residential Counselors play a vital role in providing overnight supervision, safety monitoring, and support to youth residing in our transitional and supportive housing programs. This role focuses on maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive overnight environment, while promoting emotional wellness, accountability, and positive youth development for individuals aging out of foster care or experiencing housing instability.
Key Responsibilities
Provide overnight supervision and monitoring of youth in a residential setting to ensure safety, security, and compliance with house rules
Conduct routine safety checks and wellness rounds throughout the shift
Serve as a calm, supportive presence and provide mentorship and emotional support as needed
Respond to overnight incidents, emergencies, or behavioral concerns in accordance with agency policies
Support residents with evening and morning routines, as applicable
Complete accurate documentation, including overnight shift logs, incident reports, and progress notes
Administer and document medication per policy (if applicable)
Communicate effectively with supervisors and incoming staff to ensure smooth shift transitions

Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field preferred
Experience working with at-risk youth, adolescents, or in a residential setting strongly preferred
Must be 21 years of age or older
Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background and drug screening
Strong communication, crisis intervention, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work overnight (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM), including weekends and holidays as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Prior third shift or overnight residential experience
Trauma-informed care training
CPR/First Aid certification
Knowledge of adolescent development and behavioral management techniques
Ability to remain alert, calm, and attentive during overnight hours
