    Your Mission

    As an architect for CSEngineering, you’ll be providing independent design and construction management services to support the overall operational objectives of the Coast Guard’s Civil Engineering Unit. You can expect to be planning space, providing design and construction support as well as manage projects with new or existing Coast Guard Facilities.

    What You Bring to the Table

    • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in architecture or an active registration as a professional architect by an approved state.
    • In-depth project management experience to include
      • Managing multi-discipline, multi-faceted projects related to real property facilities
      • Planning, design, cost estimating, contracting support and construction management
    • Architectural design experience to include the ability to prepare plans/details, write specifications and perform technical calculations in support of design objectives
    • Construction Management Experience
      • This includes knowledge of acceptable current construction Building Cods, common procedures/practices, and equipment utilized in the construction of public works facilities
    • LEED Accreditation is not required but appreciated (our tuition reimbursement program can help you attain this!)
    • AutoCAD knowledge is certainly appreciated, but not required.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    Overall, you will provide all investigation and design services required to produce biddable design documents. You will be performing site visits, developing designs as required for renovation/restoration/construction for approximately 6-10 projects/year ranging from $100K - $1.5M

    • You will prepare design documents and/or scopes of work for A/E services, Design/Build services and construction work.
      • This includes preparing drawings, technical specifications, cost estimates and other documents, as required, for complex construction projects on sites with diverse climatic, geographic and environmental conditions.
    • You’ll also be providing technical advice to contracting officers during negotiations.
    • Perform site investigation of project sites to gather essential data for new or renovation work.
    • Provide in-house architectural and space planning expert advice and reviews.
    • Coordinate with site contacts and multi-discipline design team members; conduct conceptual design meetings with in-house and site personnel; provide support services to architectural and engineering designers in Coast Guard specific project documentation functions.
