Job Description

A crypto trader buys and sells cryptocurrencies to profit from price movements, using market analysis, trading strategies, and risk management techniques.​

Core responsibilities

• Analyze cryptocurrency market trends, charts, order books, and news to identify potential trading opportunities.​

• Execute buy and sell orders on exchanges, manage open positions, and adjust stop-loss/ take-profit levels based on market conditions.​

• Develop, test, and refine manual or algorithmic trading strategies, including intraday, swing, or longer-term approaches.​

Risk management and monitoring

• Manage portfolio risk by sizing positions, diversifying across assets, and setting clear risk-reward ratios for each trade.​

• Continuously monitor markets, volatility, and liquidity, especially during major economic events, protocol updates, or regulatory news.​

• Keep records of trades, performance metrics, and strategy results to evaluate profitability and improve decision-making over time.​

Qualifications

Skills and requirements

• Strong understanding of cryptocurrency markets, blockchain basics, and how different tokens, exchanges, and trading products work.​

• Proficiency with charting platforms, technical indicators, and sometimes programming skills for automated or quantitative strategies.​

• Discipline, emotional control, and the ability to follow a defined trading plan while managing high risk and rapid price fluctuations.​
