Job Summary:
The CT Technologist performs high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures using computerized tomography (CT) equipment, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and the accurate acquisition of images for interpretation by radiologists. The technologist works collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare staff to provide excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform CT imaging procedures according to established protocols and physician orders.
Prepare and position patients appropriately for CT scans, ensuring safety and comfort.
Operate CT scanners and related equipment, maintaining proper technical parameters.
Verify patient identification and review relevant medical history and imaging requisitions.
Administer contrast materials as required, observing all safety and allergy protocols.
Monitor patients during scans and respond to any adverse reactions or complications.
Evaluate images for diagnostic quality and ensure all data is correctly stored and transferred.
Maintain and clean CT equipment; report malfunctions promptly.
Follow radiation safety guidelines and infection control procedures at all times.
Assist in training new technologists and students as required.
Complete all documentation and PACS entries accurately and timely.
Qualifications:
ARRT Certification in Radiography (R) and Computed Tomography (CT) required.
Active Nevada State License (if applicable).
Current BLS Certification (American Heart Association).
Minimum of 1 year of recent CT experience preferred.
Excellent patient care, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
