    Pay: $78(1099).

    Location: Long Beach Veterans Affairs Healthcare System (LBVAHCS) 5901 E. 7th Street Long Beach, CA 90822

    Schedule:

    CT: Weekday & Weekend Coverage (including holidays)

    • Day: 7:00am – 7:30pm
    • Night: 6:00pm – 6:30am

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum 1 year of current work experience in Computed Tomography (CT).
    • Hold a current valid ARRT (R) and Advanced ARRT Computed Tomography (CT) certification for CT modality.
    • Must have demonstrated experience starting Intravenous (IV) and contrast injections. IV certification is preferred but not required.
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
    • Picture Achieving & Communication Systems (PACS) work experience; however, AGFA PACS experience is preferred but not required.

    Duties: Shall be responsible for, but is not limited to:

    • Independently operate CT Scanning equipment to perform a variety of complex CT imaging exams and practices CT safety. Shall receive patients, explain method of procedure(s), position patients, select and set technical parameters, set up and adjust accessory equipment for imaging. Operate CT Scanner equipment, a highly complex computerized imaging device which employs the use of radiation producing equipment to acquire images of the entire body, including the brain, neck, spine, chest, body, and extremities.
    • Shall be subject to the same quality assurance standards in meeting or exceeding current recognized national standards. Shall set up CT suites, assuring that sterile supplies, contrast materials, catheters, and other required equipment and supplies are present and available.
    • Prepare and administer contrast material intravenously under close supervision of radiologist(s), but not independently as required. Personnel will also perform related clerical duties such as sending images to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), archiving images, post processing images, and case editing of computer requests and reports. Contract personnel shall also maintain records and enter patient information using the Radiology Vista Package, and the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS).
