    JMT is currently looking for experienced Field Technicians to join the Underground Utilities, Land Surveying, and Mapping team in Pittsburgh. SPONSORSHIP NOT AVAILABLE FOR THIS POSITION. 

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Conduct field investigations
    • Operate equipment to locate & mark subsurface utilities
    • Label topographic features from field codes
    • Perform calculations
    • Complete daily reports and field note sketches
    • Assist with training SUE staff in methods, use of equipment, and field safety procedures
    • Participate in project meetings
    • Operate vacuum excavation truck to expose underground utilities
    • Interpret roadway and utility plans, and utility record drawings
    • Travel required

     

    NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Perform other related duties as assigned

    Required Skills Required Experience

    • 3+ years’ experience
    • Valid Driver’s License with good driving record
    • Able to pass Security Background Checks
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Team Attitude / Mindset

     

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE 

    • Experience using Ground Penetrating Radar is preferred but not necessary
    • Surveying experience preferred but not necessary

     

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    Work is performed in the field 95% of the time. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 75+ lbs. as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Successful candidate must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

     

    Work is performed within a general office environment 5% of the time. Office work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment. Successful candidate must be able to work 7:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday – Friday (Minimum).

     

    TRAVEL IS REQUIRED.

  • Qualifications
    • 2-5 years of experience supporting Windows 7/10 desktop/laptop PC’s
    • Experience troubleshooting computer hardware/software issues
    • Installation of software and patches on computers as well as system imaging
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical ability
    • Experience troubleshooting network, software, printing problems in a Windows client/server environment
    • Experience utilizing Remote Desktop tools
    • Hands on workstation support is required; willingness to report to the office on a regular schedule
    • Mobile platform support (iPhones, Android, and tablets)
    • Help Desk Support tier I and II
    • Open support tickets working toward resolution, escalating to next level of support as needed
    • Experience with Office 365 and Teams
    • Active Directory, DNS, DHCP Support
    • CADD application support desirable
    • Ability to work in a team environment or independently as needed
    • Must be able to think and adapt quickly as business needs change
    • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
