    Position summary: The successful candidate will be responsible for performing departmental operations duties supporting other project managers and the department’s section manager.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities

    • Monitors schedules, budgets, accounts receivable and manpower requirements and prepares invoices.
    • Develop Project Management plans for assigned projects
    • Establish project pricing and budgets
    • Create and maintain project schedules
    • Develop and maintain project specific quality plans
    • Develop and coordinate project scope
    • Manage subconsultants
    • Participate in client presentations
    • Oversee and manage assigned staff working on project
    • Manage all technical resources on the project team
    • Development of extra work order requests and open-end contract task proposals
    • Coordinate and assist Section Heads, Office Managers, and Practice Leaders with marketing proposals

    Additional Functions and Responsibilities related to Departmental Operations

    • Optimize project staff assignments in support of PMs
    • Guide and coordinate staff development planning and align individual goals to Section & Practice
    • Track and project staffing needs and departmental backlog
    • Guide and encourage contract managers to plan and expand new assignments from soft backlog
    • Build relationships with satellite Practice sections to achieve these goals
    • Guide and encourage faithful development and execution of Project Management Plans and Quality Control/Assurance processes.
    • Furnish technical leadership and consultation to senior and mid-level staff
    • Support strategy for marketing/recognition outreach
    • Plan/encourage industry participation and learning opportunities
    • Support Section Head to develop section operating budgets and track budget performance and strategize with PMs to manage same
    • Encourage and support vertical communication from corporate to staff, and horizontal collaboration within teams and to external departments

    Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities

    • Perform other related duties as assigned

    Required Skills

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited engineering program
    • Professional Engineer License
    • 18+ years’ experience in Water/Wastewater project design and management

    Preferred Experience

    • CAPM, PMP and/or ENV-SP
    • Experience working with local clients at the county and state level
    • Project management and business development experience
    • Experience with multiple project delivery methods i.e. Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3
    • Experience managing multidiscipline project teams

    Working Conditions

    Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.

    Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
