The Paralegal – Emerging Companies will receive a generous total compensation package. Bonuses are awarded in recognition of individual and firm performance. As a Paralegal at Latham, you will manage and lead all supportive aspects for cases or transactions. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supervising and guiding the work done by paralegals, secretaries, and support departments to ensure the completion of work for complex cases or transactions. The Paralegal will be highly skilled in legal research and analyzing facts and information, reviewing invoices, billing entries, and resolving problems as they arise. The Paralegal is also expected to have advanced knowledge and research of complex legal matters. The responsibilities of the Paralegal will include:
As a Paralegal, you will be expected to apply your organizational and communication skills while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude. The successful Paralegal must have proficient knowledge of internal software applications such as word processing, internet researching skills, and spreadsheets and databases including Carta. The ideal Paralegal should have knowledge of legal concepts and methodologies as they relate to practice areas. The Paralegal should have excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a team environment with a client service focus.
A Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program is required. A minimum of two (2) years of Latham equivalent experience (as determined by the local LPP Committee member) is desired.
