Position summary: The Facilities/CM department is searching for a Estimator (CM-EST) to perform duties in Washington DC. The candidate shall have the capability to prepare, analyze and identify incongruities and deficiencies in the contractors work in relationship with the baseline schedule of values and monthly pay requests. Work completed shall be identified in the credentials of the individual to show competency to undertake a rigorous program in construction for cost control. Other requirements include the change order proposal reviews, written and oral communications and coordination efforts as required.

Essential functions and responsibilities

• The CM-EST shall be able to quickly understand and master the requirements of the local state and federal jurisdictions and the requirements of each considering the Requirements of the Project.
• The CM-EST must possess Communication, Language, and Software Skills with the ability to utilize a variety of software programs to monitor, update, and produce work products by applying knowledge of computer literacy.

Required Experience

• Shall possess a degree from an accredited institution of higher learning with a specialty in Estimating or evidence of three (3) years of construction estimating work experience and knowledge to compensate for absence of higher education. Work experience may be substituted and will be reviewed for acceptability.
• Shall possess a current professional credentialing as an Estimator and maintenance of same throughout tenure.6+ years’ experience in both design and construction.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Preferred Experience

• Knowledgeable with CPM scheduling. Experienced with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project is preferred
• Experience working with governmental agencies at the city, county and state levels
• Experience working in hospitals or medical facilities

Working Conditions

Work is performed in both an office and field (construction) environment. Office to field time is approximately 25% to 75% respectively. Field work requires climbing, walking and standing at a construction site and may be outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 50 lbs) may be required.
