    Johnson County Community College is looking to fill the part-time professional position of Program Coordinator, Accelerating Opportunity: Kansas (AO-K). The AO-K program transforms adult education in Kansas by using career pathways to deliver career and technical education simultaneously with adult basic skills instruction.

     

    This position requires a combination of:

    • instruction
    • program development/management
    • marketing/community outreach
    • grants administration

     

    The current program focus is on growing enrollment.  As such, the Coordinator develops marketing strategies and materials to publicize and promote AO-K programs to students, potential students, faculty, staff, stakeholders, partner agencies and the larger community to build awareness and interest.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               

    Other responsibilities include team teaching with technical instructors in Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses; establishing and tracking key performance indicators; coordinating with other JCCC departments to develop and launch new pathways; working with the Kansas Board of Regents to assure compliance with all program requirements; and identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous program improvement. 

     

    The Program Coordinator, AO-K is responsible for directing the operation of various career pathways which currently include Healthcare, Construction Management, Web Development, Automotive Technology, Railroad Conductor and Welding. 

     

    The Program Coordinator is a 25-hour per week professional position at JCCC.

    • Teaching experience, preferably in a high school and/or adult education
    • Marketing and promotional experience

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

    • Master’s degree in Math, English, Education or a related field
    • Experience in grants management
