Behavior Health Activity Therapist - Full Time
Jennie Stuart Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Activity Therapist to join our team at the JSH Medical Center. This full-time, regular/at-will position is integral to our commitment to providing high-quality care to patients with diverse therapeutic needs. The Behavioral Health Activity Therapist will work under the direction of psychiatric services. is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing therapeutic recreational activities for individuals or groups to support their emotional, physical, and cognitive well-being. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing comprehensive physical, psychosocial, and safety assessments, developing individualized care plans, and providing recreational therapy treatments. Coordination with other clinical team members is essential to ensure optimal patient care and communication. The therapist will also be responsible for completing all required paperwork and procedures, maintaining personal knowledge in the field, attending safety training programs, following exposure control plans, and promoting a respectful and professional environment. The role demands a proactive approach to facilitate the department's goals and objectives, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety are met. The successful candidate will be a key player in our multidisciplinary team, contributing to a supportive atmosphere that fosters patient well-being and recovery.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement structured activity therapy programs based on patient needs and treatment goals.
Lead individual and group therapy sessions using recreational activities (e.g., art, music, games, exercise, nature therapy).
Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment teams (physicians, psychologists, social workers, nurses) to develop and update individualized treatment plans.
Assess patients' interests, needs, and abilities through interviews, observation, and consultation.
Document patient participation, progress, and response to therapeutic activities in accordance with facility policies.
Plan and coordinate special events, community outings, or themed activity days.
Monitor and maintain the safety of participants during all activities.
Assist in the evaluation and improvement of activity programs.
Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment related to recreational therapy.
