  • Responsibilities

    The Supervisor will facilitate and coordinate production to assure products conform to requirements, are built and available for the Master Schedule and produced in a cost effective manner.

     

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for identifying training needs and implementing processes to support the long term goal of zero defects.
    • Monitor cost center performance and maintain budgets within approved limits.
    • Responsible for creating an environment which values employees, serves our customers, and provides a fair return to owner.
    • Assures the efficient ordering, handling & control of W.I.P. inventory.
    • Responsible for timely production of Service parts to assure a superior level of customer service.
    • Assure excellent housekeeping, productivity and work habits are maintained.
    • Assures that capital equipment is fully utilized.
    • Responsible for all areas of human relations.
    • Responsible for short-term and long-term manpower planning.
    • Responsible for the budget process and forecasts.
    • Responsible for ensuring safety practices are followed.

     

    COMPLIANCE:

    • Monitor safety, energy, hygiene, environmental and security programs and assure production areas are in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws.
    • Assure the E.E.O. and A.A.P. programs are complied with in areas of responsibility.

     

    PERSONNEL DEVELOPMENT:

    •  Assure up-to-date job descriptions are available.
    • Perform timely relevant performance evaluation.
    • Provide for the development and training of employees.

     

    JOB DIMENSIONS:

    • Reports to Welding Manager.
    • Facilities and coordinates activity of production employees as required.
    • Shows willingness to pursue continuing education.
    • This position is 1st shift, with core hours being 6:00-3:30pm.

     

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • High School diploma + 5 years experience in a manufacturing related capacity required.
    • B.S. or A.A. degree preferred.  
    • Continual education and development required. 
    • Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization. 
    • Basic understanding of Materials, Engineering, Human Resources, and Accounting and how they relate to each other. 
    • Computer skills required.  
    • Ability to demonstrate outstanding leadership characteristics under different stress situations.

  • Qualifications
    • Proven operations experience within a high volume and fast-paced environment.
    • Proven team building and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate others.
    • Background in high volume distribution preferred.
    • Experience managing at least 50 direct reports., including temporary agency staff.
    • Excellent leadership ability.
    • Proactive problem solving ability.
    • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other spreadsheet applications.
    • Technical background is a plus.
