    PRODUCT PORTFOLIO STRATEGY DIRECTOR

    SOUTHFIELD, MI

     

    As a member of the E-Systems Strategy and Product Management team, the Product Portfolio Strategy Director will be responsible for leading the analysis of market and technology trends, creating a synthesized view of the related market opportunities, and supplying thought leadership and analysis of Lear E-Systems market position and new opportunities while also contributing to the division business and overall product strategy.   

     

    THE ROLE

     

    Your work will include, but not be limited to:

     

    • Lead the study of market trends and their implications to Lear E-Systems
    • Lead the creation of market and technology analyses and associated strategies
    • Create Strategic opportunity assessments aligned with market trends and propose potential new opportunities for Lear E-Systems
    • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Lear’s current market position, capabilities, customers, and competitors
    • Attend appropriate conferences and events to capture market insights
    • Engage with corporate M&A and Innovation teams on strategy development and implementation

     

    YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

     

    • Engineering degree or similar technical background 
    • 8+ years of relevant experience
    • Experience in synthesizing complex information for product strategy creation
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to make presentations to all levels of management and executives
    • Ability to understand key financial metrics and methods
    • Ability to put technical and strategic questions in a business framework and vice versa
    • Deep understanding of automotive technology landscape and trends
    • Ability to understand and be inquisitive about technology
    • Ability to connect with people and create insights from those interactions
    • Ability to create decision frameworks and make strategically sound and justified recommendations
    • Ability to tackle big and challenging questions
    • Level-headed demeanor – not easily frustrated
    • Strong leadership skills; ability to rally a team and lead towards new ways of thinking and operating
    • Analytical / learning oriented – ability to create insights from research and data
    • Ability to look beyond the obvious considerations and look at situations and challenges differently
    • Strategic mindset to think long term and with a synthesized view of complex technical and business considerations
    • Confidence to take new and bold recommendations forward
