We work in small teams where each person is able to impact the technical direction of the project. At CTI, you will be exposed to a range of technologies and have opportunities to support a variety of unique projects in Java, Android, and/or various web technologies. Here are some examples of solutions we develop:

    • Real-time geospatial visualization of spectrum, including command and control of integrated platforms/sensors
    • Tools to collect, process, exploit, and disseminate large amounts of telemetry and sensor data
    • Immersive 3D scenario modeling for planning, analysis, and training
    • Open platform of APIs and services for desktop, mobile, and web applications to interface with devices such as radios and UAVs.

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead and mentor other engineers in meeting technical requirements
    • Design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing software systems and/or applications, including smaller-scale architecture for new projects
    • Participate as a primary voice in code reviews, constructively guiding/mentoring more junior developers
    • Continuously learn, grow, and improve
    • Proactively and constructively advocate for improvement on behalf of the organization, your team, and yourself
    • Analyze user needs to determine technical requirements
    • Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements
    • Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation
    • Analyze code to find causes of errors/inefficiency and revise programs, as needed

    REQUIREMENTS

    NECESSARY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    • U.S. Citizenship - all positions require a U.S. Security Clearance
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field
    • 8+ years of experience in programming, engineering, or related work
    • Production level experience in Java
    • Linux software development experience
    • Version control systems, such as Git or Mercurial
    • Build tools, such as Gradle or Maven
    • Experience driving technical decisions, including the ability to break down problems, identify solutions, and communicate the process and conclusions to an engineering team and/or senior leadership
    • Initiative and the ability to work independently and collaborate within a team
    • Ability to communicate effectively via multiple mediums and with management, co-workers, and customers, both technical and non-technical
    • Ability to lead a team of engineers in order to meet a projects technical goals
    • Ability to write clean code and leverage best practices for implementation, documentation, and testing

    • Other JVM Languages such as Kotlin, Groovy, Scala or Clojure
    • Front end development experience with RESTful API design, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, HTML, ClojureScript, NodeJS, and/or ReactJS
    • Experience with NASA WorldWind, OSGi, Netty, ATAK, Android, Apache Camel, OMG DDS, Protocol Buffers, Avro, OpenGL/GLES, and/or AWS
    • Domain experience with software defined radios, GNU Radio, Redhawk, electronic warfare, signals processing/intelligence, and/or geospatial data/visualization
