FOR THE 2020-2021 SERVICE YEAR, RESILIENCE CORPS NC OFFERS A LIVING STIPEND OF $17,000 FOR 11 MONTHS, HEALTH INSURANCE REIMBURSEMENT FOR PREMIUMS, CHILDCARE ASSISTANCE, AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES (INDIVIDUAL TRAININGS, ENROLLMENT IN NC ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION CERTIFICATE PROGRAM, AND CONFERENCES IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE NC COMMISSION ON VOLUNTEERISM). PARTICIPANTS WHO COMPLETE THE PROGRAM WILL RECEIVE A SEGAL EDUCATION AWARD OF $6,195 FROM THE NATIONAL SERVICE TRUST.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The purpose of an Eno River Association Environmental Educator is to create environmental stewards through growth in understanding of natural resources, build community support and diversify support in underrepresented populations for the conservation and protection of the Eno River basin through educational leadership and programming. Emphasis is promoting environmental and conservation awareness to local schools, neighborhoods, and community groups while building relationships with the natural resources of the Eno River watershed. All education efforts use the Eno River natural resources as the basis for teaching larger concepts.

PREFERRED SCHEDULE
Most work time will be Monday-Friday typically between 8:00AM and 5:00PM. Employee will have flexibility to adjust workday length for program offering advantages providing target hours are met. Employee can expect to lead a single educational program or stewardship activity most weekends either on a Friday night, Saturday, or a Sunday afternoon as is most appropriate to research target audience. Holiday work on New Year’s Day, Independence Day, and King Day of Service Holiday IF allowed by AmeriCorps policy, as these are major event days for the Association. Occasional but uncommon work at evening events and reporting to the board of directors. Occasional night-time interpretation and education programming 1-2 times per month. Weekday schedules will be reduced commensurately to accommodate weekend and evening work requirements.
