    SUMMARY:

    Will be responsible for the research and development of hydraulic, electrical and drive system components in heavy equipment and off-highway trucks. Will lead the team that researches and analyzes the latest technologies to propose system specifications and develop logic specifications for software requirements. The team also works toward implementing and testing electrical, electromechanical, hydraulic, and drive systems.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Master's. degree in Engineering or Science and 4 years of engineering experience OR B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline and 10 years of experience designing and developing industrial heavy trucks
    • Minimum 2 years of experience supervising technical staff
    • Familiarity with all major truck systems and the relationship between all systems, be they hydraulic, mechanical, control or drive systems
    • Knowledge of electric drive systems with respect to heavy equipment, and diesel-electric heavy trucks in particular
    • Matlab and Simulink knowledge and ability to use these tools to simulate and evaluate electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical system behavior and obtain and analyze field data
    • Ability to interpret and create electrical and hydraulic schematics.
    • Experience designing and using PLC control on heavy equipment
    • Experience with communication networks and vehicle communication bus architecture
    • Knowledge of communication protocols such as RS232, CanOpen, J1939, etc.
    • Knowledge of diagnostic tools needed to verify software function
    • Database software, schematic software
    • Knowledge of MS Project Management
    • MRP software related to truck BOM (Bill of Material) structure and inventory control
    • Experience using advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations and permutations
    • Ability to travel within the US and abroad up to 20% of the time
    • Ability to obtain valid driver's license and passport.

     

    Must Have:

    construction or mining heavy equipment design specification development to describe software function functional safety principles and implementation for machinery High level machine controls architecture experience knowledge of PLC's / communication protocols for mobile equipment general hydraulic knowledge / performance principles machine performance simulation machine performance data analysis and review general capability to read electrical schematics general capability to read hydraulic schematics

    Preferred:

    Matlab / Simulink

    A/C drive system

    E3 schematic software

    Creo CAD software

    C, C++, python, or other programming experience
