    The Manager of Programming & Development will assist in the research, planning, and implementation of coding applications and projects that requires programming and technical resources. Manage daily activities of the Programming and Development Team with adherence to the Agile Project Management framework including sprint design, sprint planning, daily scrums, deployment, and retrospectives.

    Responsible for meeting with other credit union departments to define programming specifications and scheduling technical resources for development. Responsible for IT personnel development training needs, assessment of resources, and escalating issues to the VP of IT.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Code within set programming standards.
    • Support the vision and mission of the IT organization.
    • Ensure coordination and support of each IT department.
    • Provide guidance and instructions to immediate staff in the completion of programming efforts.
    • Adhere to change management procedures when making software coding changes.
    • Minimize risks and ensure system integrity at all times.
    • Complete projects within set deadlines.
    • Test code thoroughly prior to production.
    • Monitor programming needs and recommend tools where necessary.
    • Direct staff in the efforts to develop systems that provide enhanced sales and support capabilities.
    • Assist in the Information Technology Planning process.
    • Encourage process improvement projects that leverage technology investments.
    • Budget management.
    • Lead and coordinate resources within IT to complete Strategic plan goals.
    • Provide detailed project plans to involved departments to ensure coordination of development projects.
    • Responsible for the Programming and Development department’s productivity.
    • Deploy and code using tools for Rapid Application Development (RAD).
    • On call as needed to support critical systems or project implementations.
    • Complete IT projects as assigned by Senior IT Management.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    • Adhere to IT policies and procedures.
    • Develop using the System Life Cycle.
    • Develop code within security standards and adhere to coding standards.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    The level of education and/or experience needed to successfully accomplish the minimum essential responsibilities of the position is a four year college or university program certificate; or four to five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
