Key Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during invasive cardiovascular procedures by ensuring a sterile, safe, and well-equipped environment
• Maintain proficiency in sterile technique and aseptic procedures
• Operate and monitor advanced surgical equipment and technology
• Combine strong anatomical and procedural knowledge to support optimal patient outcomes
• Adhere to all hospital policies and participate in continuous improvement efforts
• Demonstrate age-specific competency in patient care delivery
• Communicate effectively with team members and maintain reliable contact via phone

Qualifications & Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
• State Board certification required at time of employment
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association required before orientation completion
• Demonstrated expertise in clinical care and ability to perform advanced technical tasks
• Must pass third-party criminal background checks, including VA State Police screening
• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Light to medium physical demand (20–50 lbs); frequent standing, walking, lifting, and equipment handling
• Visual and auditory acuity necessary for surgical precision
• Capable of interpreting and responding to verbal commands and equipment alerts in a fast-paced environment
