Overall Position Description: The Design Intern role has emphasis on learning the Dealer Design industry and assisting the Design team. He/ she is guided by peers and Design Management. Responsibilities: - Preparing specifications and completing drawings - Researching products - Learning Specification software - Preparing presentation documents - Updating Vendor List(s) Education/ Experience/Skill Requirements: Working towards Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from accredited (4) year university, architectural, or interior design school No industry experience required Participation in professional organization encouraged (but not required) Competencies: Applies drawing and documentation standards, applies electronic file naming conventions Creates specifications for clients using AutoCAD, CAP, CET Designer, basic understanding of how to gather information from vendors, basic understanding of price books, able to specify COM Understanding of Herman Miller furniture system and seating vocabulary, familiar with ancillary lines and fabric vendors
