    CONTROLLER - CABAN SYSTEMS

    Caban's mission is to bring renewable energy to critical infrastructure around the world.  As our Controller, you will be responsible for oversight of all accounting operations, including the production of monthly financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and treasury functions. You will report directly to the CFO and be responsible for growing and managing the accounting organization over time. This role requires someone who can think strategically about systems and processes to minimize manual reconciliation and maximize ease of reporting and metric tracking.  We are investing in accounting and systems as a young company to avoid painful manual reconciliations later. You'll join a startup that is growing rapidly, run by a small team that is passionate about replacing fossil fuels with clean energy.  

    Responsibilities:

    • Own all accounting functions initially; manage the accounting organization as Caban grows. 
    • Daily accounting operations including: AP, AR and Cash functions.
    • Own all month end closing activities.
    • Assist with financial statement audit process.
    • Preparation of monthly external and internal financial statement reporting, providing additional reporting & analyses on an as needed basis.
    • Assist (& direct) implementation of our ERP system (Odoo).
    • Continuous improvement of internal controls and processes.
    • Work cross-functionally with various business partners to drive and achieve company wide targets (Management, Supply Chain, Sales, Engineering, etc.).

    Requirements:

    • 7+ years hands-on progressive accounting experience with at least 2+ years Big 4, National or Local Firm experience (Audit/Assurance experience highly desired). 
    • Experience with manufacturing, or cost accounting and physical inventory at a minimum.
    • Experience rolling up multiple international entities and cross-border transactions.
    • Strong analytical skills and high level of attention to detail a must.
    • Well organized and able to work independently.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
    • ERP experience, Odoo experience a plus.
    • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, proficiency in other Microsoft Office/GSuite applications.
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
    • Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS a plus; CPA highly desired but not required.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced start-up environment.
    • A sense of humor and tolerance for ambiguity.
