About the Role:
Communications Install Solutions Inc is looking for a skilled Cabling Field Tech to join our growing team in Hermiston, OR. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in the field, takes pride in quality installations, and is ready to be a key part of delivering reliable communications infrastructure to our clients.
Responsibilities:
Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cable
Pull and route low-voltage cabling through walls, ceilings, conduit, and cable trays
Terminate data jacks, patch panels, and fiber connectors with precision and care
Perform cable testing and troubleshooting using industry-standard equipment
Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and technical diagrams on job sites
Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and clients on-site
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with safety standards
Requirements:
Prior experience in low-voltage cabling, structured wiring, or telecommunications installation
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and cable testing equipment
Ability to work in various environments including attics, crawl spaces, and elevated lifts
Strong attention to detail and commitment to clean, professional installations
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the workday
BICSI certification or low-voltage license is a plus but not required
