PURPOSE/SCOPE:

This person’s primary responsibility will be mechanical and preventative maintenance. However, it will also include a variety of maintenance related activities including electrical troubleshooting, installation, and project work.  They will also be involved in the disassembly, repair, and reassembly of transfer presses and automation equipment.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with scheduling and prioritizing preventative and routine maintenance.
• Perform preventative maintenance on machinery (including stamping, tool room, and assembly).
• Perform emergency machine repairs.
• Troubleshooting all problems of mechanical (shafts, cams, gears, etc.), electrical, drives, servo motors, and PLCs.
• Assist with install of new machinery and equipment moves.
• Order machinery parts or components from outside sources, including plumbing, hardware, electrical and mechanical supplies.
• Assist the Maintenance Manager in maintaining a database of all machine parts by press size.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of two years of experience in a mechanically related role.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
• Proficient PC skills, email, ERP systems.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
• Ability to work independently and self-directed.
• Must have own tools.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Possess knowledge of servo drive controls and motors.
• Possess knowledge of electrical applications.
• Strong inventive and analytical skills.
• Experience purchasing machine parts.
• Strong mechanical skills.
• Knowledge of manufacturing and metal stamping process a plus.
