    SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER

     

    SUMMARY 

    The Senior Mechanical Engineer is a lead role within the engineering department and will perform engineering duties in planning and design, provide technical, engineering expertise and play a key role in the successful execution of projects. This role will also integrate with the EPC program team to deliver effective engineering deliverables on time to support construction schedule.

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Interface between field construction and engineering subcontractors.
    • Provide designs for project including conceptualizing, researching, and developing designs.
    • Assist in review of proposed changes for engineering design and constructability.
    • Evaluate feasibility of various technologies in a variety of applications.
    • Create and track engineering budgets. Perform on schedule, on budget.
    • Create high quality engineering studies, using creativity and ingenuity in applying engineering principles and practices to solve problems.
    • Create building models for use in both sizing equipment, and also in evaluating the economics of various alternatives such as high efficient equipment or geothermal systems.
    • Adapt methods to solve problems. Use creativity to resolve complex issues.
    • Train and mentor new engineers.
    • Other duties as assigned

    Required Skills

    EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & SKILLS 

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
    • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain in a timely manner.
    • Ten or more years of experience in various branches of engineering and designing commercial and industrial systems.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills in evaluating situations.
    • Proficiency in CAD, Excel, and Word.

     

    WORKING CONDITIONS 

    Office environment – extensive sitting at desk and computer; some standing, bending at the waist, stooping and reaching required; ability to lift 5-20 pounds frequently & 20- 50 pounds occasionally.
