    JOB SUMMARY:

    As the Proposal Specialist, you will work closely with the Marketing Manager to develop strategic written and visual collateral to support CERM's environmental, energy, transportation, water resources, and federal clients.  This role is a key function of our branding and business development efforts. In addition to content creation, you will also support our customer service and community reinvestment activities. 

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    • Support the production of business development/marketing support material such as qualification packages, proposals, presentations, and sales sheets.
    • Analyze government and corporate solicitation packages; Facilitate go/no-go decisions; Develop and maintain proposal outlines and schedules; and help coordinate efforts of internal and external teams.
    • Write non-technical sections and heavily edit technical sections for clarity, consistency, and enhancement of win themes. 
    • Conduct formatting and editing to ensure accuracy, persuasiveness, and compliance of final documents.
    • 80% of your day-to-day duties will be focused on development of strategic proposal content; 20% of your day-to-day duties may include developing ads, social media graphics, data visualization, promotional materials, and document formats consistent with the Company’s brand messaging.
    • Work independently to maintain and update information in our Customer Relationship Management System (Deltek Vantagepoint), project information, and resumes.
    • Maintain, track, and amplify the company’s digital footprint.
    • Monitor industry best practices and conduct analysis of current market conditions and competitor information in order to contribute ideas on how to improve the firm’s marketing and business development process and initiatives.
    • Attend internal and external meetings with clients and subconsultants as needed, to assist in positioning for upcoming projects and teaming.

    • Excellent writing, graphic design, and communication skills with keen attention to detail
    • Advanced skills using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat) as well as Microsoft Office Programs (Sharepoint, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
    • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to multi-task and pivot in a deadline-driven environment
    • Ability to handle confidential and proprietary information
    • Effectively work in cross-functional, collaborative teams
    • Problem-Solving skills

    Required Experience

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s  degree in Marketing, English, Public Policy, Communications, or Business Related area of study
    • 5+ years of proposal coordination/marketing experience
    • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills 
    • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
    • Experience with Client Relationship Management (CRM) software
    • Applicant must thrive in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment while maintaining focus and attention to detail
    • Experience in the A/E industry with a solid understanding of the public procurement process is highly desired

     

    PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • A/E/C industry experience preferred
    • Experience with Client Relationship Management (CRM) Deltek Ajera software

     

    LICENSURES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND REGISTRATIONS:

    • None required

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required
    • This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    • This job operates in a professional office environment with some limited capacity for remote work.
    • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines
