  • Responsibilities

    GENERAL SUMMARY:

    Perform complex accounting and financial reporting responsibilities, applying advanced knowledge of U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and concepts.

    Prepare monthly financial statements, management analysis and schedules. Perform month-end responsibilities related to domestic and international trial balance and account reconciliation review. Coordinate outsourced SOX 404 compliance and testing. Coordinate and prepare work papers for quarterly reviews and annual audits. Work closely with Controller in the preparation of company’s SEC filings (10-Qs, 10-Ks, 8-Ks, Proxy, Section 16 filings) including financial statements, footnotes, disclosures and supporting documents. Assure compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations utilizing sound financial reporting practices, and effective business writing standards. As needed, research and prepare technical memos outlining financial reporting impact of accounting pronouncements and unique transactions.

    RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:

    **1. **Accounting and month-end responsibilities:

    · Review and prepare various reconciliations and accounting schedules during month-end close.

    · Review and analyze domestic and international accounts with significant balances.

    · Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements, management analysis and schedules.

    · Draft technical accounting memos.

    **2. **Coordination of SOX compliance and testing:

    · Work directly with CPA consulting firm and key control owners during SOX testing and documentation update.

    · Gather information internally.

    · Ensure corrective actions have been taken.

    · Maintain document repository for process narratives.

    · Provide administrative support and coordination in SOX planning process.

    **3. **SEC Reporting:

    · Prepare quarterly, annual, and special SEC filings, including the financial statements footnotes and disclosures for MD&A.

    · Prepare analyses for MD&A.

    · Coordinate and provide work papers for external audits for quarter reviews and annual audit.

    · Support financial aspects of the quarterly earnings release, annual reports to shareholders, and any other externally reported financial information.

    · Gather financial information from various business units and international offices.

    · Prepare memoranda accounting research and reviews of accounting pronouncements that impact financial reporting.

    · Ensure stock option activity and other equity transactions are recorded appropriately as they occur.

    Required Skills

    **EDUCATION
    ** Bachelors Degree in Accounting, advanced degree is preferred

    **LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:
    ** CPA required

    SKILLS KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

    · Strong organizational, time management and task management skills.

    · Strong oral and written communication skills.

    · Detail-oriented analytical and problem-solving skills.

    · Strong knowledge and understanding of SEC, GAAP and SOX 404 requirements.

    · Proficient in Excel.

    · Working knowledge of JD Edwards (ERP) General Ledger and subledgers.

    · Energetic self-starter that can multitask, prioritize, and complete assigned work within deadlines.

    · Experience with the following is preferred:

    o Accounting for stock-based compensation (ASC 718)

    o Lease accounting (ASC 842)

    o Revenue recognition (ASC 606)

    · Working knowledge of XBRL taxonomies preferred.

    Required Experience

    EXPERIENCE:

    2-4 years in public accounting

    Experience with multiple entities and multiple currencies

    Experience with a large company ERP system (Mannatech uses JD Edwards)

    Experience with SEC filings
