    COMMODITY RISK SPECIALIST

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    We are currently seeking a Commodity Risk Specialist to be based in our Corporate Headquarters in Amarillo, TX. This position will assist in livestock and commodity hedging activities as well as be responsible for purchasing feed ingredients and managing commodity logistics including, but not limited to, multiple feed mills in Texas and Kansas. The position will also assist in ticket entry, as well as provide support for additional steps in the commodity procurement process.

    Some specific duties/responsibilities may include:

    • Assist in execution of Livestock and Feed Ingredient hedges.
    • Negotiate terms and purchase assigned ingredients.
    • Provide logistical support for assigned ingredients/feed mills.
    • Commodity contract entry.
    • Check ticket application details for accuracy.
    • Update and distribute various daily internal reports.
    • Update and distribute contract application/status reports for outside vendors.
    • Track, organize, and archive various documents.
    • Update various analytical datasets.
    • Additional duties as assigned.

     

    PREFERRED SKILLSET AND EDUCATION FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDES:

    • 2+ years of similar experience preferred.
    • Bachelor degree in Agriculture and/or Business disciplines preferred.
    • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
    • Must be willing to work in a team environment.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
