    The Cadasta Foundation provides a global platform and digital tools to help marginalized communities and individuals document their land, property, and resource rights. We are seeking an Operations Coordinator based in Washington, D.C. to support our international programs and provide critical support to the senior leadership and to the organization as a whole. As a member of a small team, the Operations Coordinator has the opportunity to work with a growing and dynamic organization dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable people through land and resource rights.     This role will provide a range of functions, including executive support, administration, grants and contracts support, program management, reporting, and admin support to new business development. The position reports to the CEO and also supports the Chief Program Officer, providing day-to-day assistance on travel, financial tasks, board and donor reports, presentations, and other functions. This position is an exciting opportunity to take initiative, learn new skills, and to grow professionally in the field of international development. The successful candidate will manage a range of tasks that facilitate smooth operations, build organizational systems, and support program delivery.

    Our ideal candidate is someone who is detail-oriented and organized, with excellent writing and communication skills, a strong team player, and a passion for our work. We seek a candidate who has familiarity with the use of technology to solve development challenges, cross-cultural skills, and experience working in a developing economy context. We seek someone who is familiar with the operating environment of the international development sector (land experience an additional plus) as well as organizations such as NGOs, consulting and implementation firms, and/or donor organizations. Proficiency in one or more language other than English is a plus.

    Responsibilities

    • Work with the CEO and Chief Program Officer to lead coordination of activities such as travel, events, board meetings, staff meetings, and external meetings with key stakeholders;
    • Manage the inputs and outputs of the organizational CRM system, including production of key reports;
    • Provide support and administrative backstopping for overseas programs and home office day-to-day operations;
    • Support timely submissions of proposal-related documents to partners;
    • Provide support for grants and contracts administration;
    • Help monitor donor, partner, and industry publications for potential project opportunities;
    • Assist with preparation and monitoring of project reports and deliverables;
    • Assist with relevant research as requested, including attending and reporting on conferences and other outside events when needed.
    • Support organizational marketing and communication efforts when needed;
    • Provide support to the human resources function as needed;
    • Some travel to the field may be required, but is not a core requirement;
    • Other tasks and duties as assigned.

    Desired Skills, Qualifications and Experience

    • A college degree, preferably in a relevant field (international affairs, international business, non-profit management, or area studies);
    • Self-motivated, team-oriented, strong interpersonal skills, and willingness to take on a variety of roles and tasks;
    • 2-4 years' experience working in an international development setting in the U.S. or abroad;
    • Excellent English oral and written communication skills required, other languages a plus;
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a global team;
    • Ability to quickly research, analyze, and provide written summaries of relevant program and industry information;
    • Experience writing briefs, proposals, notes, reports, agreements, and other documents;
    • Detail-oriented with an ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines;
    • Administrative skills and leadership ability to anticipate needs and take action;
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where complex tasks are necessary;
    • Experience with mapping, land issues, and/or GIS is a plus, but not required;
    • Familiarity with donor organizations and their regulations & operating procedures a plus.
