    MISSION / SUMMARY:

    Travel as needed to effectively support Graphic Packaging International Foodservice Business’s (FSB) plant operations and the Vision & Mission of the CoE (Center Of Excellence) new equipment installations and startups, and existing equipment sustaining maintenance, overhauls, and upgrades. Build Technical & Operational capability in plant operators/mechanics Also support product development and rebuild center fabrications activities while working in a safe manner and obeying all safety and conduct rules.

     

     

    JOB FUNCTIONS:

    The following is a list of specific duties which are considered essential functions of this job.  The list is not all inclusive, as all positions at the company are dynamic.  The employee who occupies this position is expected to assume any / all duties assigned by management based on business needs irrespective of whether such duties are specifically included in this list.

    Perform Food Service Business (FSB) product and packaging equipment plant support and maintenance including: Mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs of production equipment to ensure quality equipment operation and maximum productivity.

    Oversee and/or support New Equipment: Installation assemble, testing, and qualification startups at production facilities for quality manufacturing of paper cups and food service business products.

    Oversee and/or support Used Equipment: Installations, disassembles, cleanings, repairs, rebuilds, and troubleshooting to achieve qualify converting and food service business products.

    • Emphasis on cup formers; PMC 1002, 1003, 1250, 1000, 1001 and Hyunjin 1100 startups, rebuilds, upgrades, and maintenance PM’s.  
    • Includes secondary equipment: Autobagger, Stackers, Blanker builds, rebuilds, upgrades, troubleshooting and maintenance.
    • Includes Gluers, formers and printers in carton plants
    • Perform timely tooling changeovers and PMs on all models.

    Learn and perform above mentioned tasks on new converting equipment such as PMC 2000s, Hyunjin Cup Formers and Overwrap machines. 

    Also, grow experience and knowledge to support other FSB equipment over time.

    Write and submit detailed Technical Reports for all work activities.

    Identify and correct mechanical or electrical issue during the maintenance & rebuild process.

    Read, interpret, and work from mechanical and basic electrical drawings and blueprints.

    Work independently and or as a team member to complete tasks in a cost-effective timely manner.

    Continue to learn new FSB equipment models and grow your job skills through on the job training and working with peers and other FSB personnel to increase job experience.

    Help train and develop other technicians, peers, and colleagues on FSB equipment and job tasks, which you are experienced with in order to help improve overall operation, maintenance, and quality control of GPI systems.

    Inspect, rebuild and test FSB equipment in MnF, and help install, start-up, and train end users at GPI facilities.

    Work with, and occasionally oversee, other onsite technicians performing equipment set-ups, assembly, installations, and factory acceptance tests (FAT), and production start-up activities.

    Support equipment manuals and service documentation development and suggest improvements.

    Prepare concise, accurate, professional, and timely Service Work Reports, Safety Audits, and Expense Reports and other support documentation for plant visits and all service work performed.

    Periodically inspect and confirm job related parts inventories, and recommend additional parts orders as needed for successful equipment maintenance and operation.

    Perform consumable materials evaluations/inspections, such as cup stock, bottom stock, and/or lids, and other production materials inspections, and submit reports as needed to address quality issues affecting equipment operations and productivity.

    Provide management with daily verbal and/or written communications regarding job activities inhouse and in the field.

    Support equipment design, upgrade, and manufacturing activities and sales/marketing efforts including internal and external customer visits if requested.

    Follow GPI administration, workplace, and safety policies, procedures and practices.

    Wear appropriate uniform and maintain professional appearance, conduct, and attitude and positively promote GPI business activities to all internal and external customers.

    Supply your own toolbox as needed, with basic mechanical and electrical tools and measuring equipment.

    Assist with FSB functions and activities as requested by management to increase GPI quality, growth, and revenue.

     

    SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

    • Work remotely at GPI plants with a general schedule of 8-hours M-F assignment.  However, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, late nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
    • Travel 50% or more including overnight travel to meet the FSB project and production needs.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Ability to drive or fly to plant work locations.
    • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time at usually 8 hours, but up to 12-hours.
    • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
    • Ability to climb ladders, and work platform stairs, and work at heights up to 15 feet with proper safety equipment and PPE.
    • Reading and operating computer screen or other electronic devices.
    • Use of various office equipment, hand and electrical tools, or equipment.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

    • High School diploma or GED.  Experience in related field or compensatory closely related work experience required in lieu of diploma. Technical School, or higher level educational diploma a plus.
