    At BMC, the Operations Supervisor oversees and coordinates all activities for their area or department. This self-motivated leader is accountable for results in terms of costs, methods, quality, quantity, operations, and personnel. They keep things running smoothly with a dedication to our team atmosphere and an eye for organization. 

     

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Oversees all work activities of functional area.
    2. Establishes work schedule and develops cost effective plan to meet store operation goals.
    3. Schedules and coordinates deliveries and/ or pick-ups.
    4. Coordinates this schedule with sales and shipping departments.
    5. Maintains equipment and machinery.
    6. Works to ensure a safe work environment and encourages adherence to safety guidelines.
    7. Prepares and verifies reports as applicable.
    8. Supervises personnel and ensures adherence to department/ company policies and procedures.
    9. Maintains discipline, fosters good associate relations and boost morale. 
    10. Performs personnel management duties including training, hiring, terminating, initiating disciplinary actions, completing performance reviews, monitoring and making departmental wage recommendations.
    11. Ensures excellent customer relations/ service.
    12. Maintains inventory of respective area.
    13. Monitors costs of assigned area.
    14. Performs other related duties as necessary.

    Required Skills

    1. Minimum Education: High School Diploma.
    2. Ability to develop, promote and maintain good customer relations.   
    3. Ability to maintain good housekeeping and safe working environment.   
    4. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    5. Must have a good understanding of OSHA requirements. 
    6. Ability to read delivery/ receivable tickets. 
    7. Tech-savvy with emphasis on computer systems. 
    8. Working knowledge of inventory purchasing and control.

    Required Experience

    Minimum Experience:

    1. 1 year of experience performing lead worker or coordinator duties in a related work environment, i.e. warehouse, lumber yard, etc.
    2. Supervising workforce of up to 15 subordinates.
