    Wilshire Cardiology:

    The Registered Nurse for Cardiology provides expert professional nursing care, advice and triage for in office and for incoming calls. Areas of specialty include interventional, electrophysiology and non-invasive cardiology. The RN provides specialty collaborative patient management with the supervising physicians. Perform non-invasive cardiac diagnostic testing such as but not limited to exercise cardiac stress tests, pharmacologic stress tests and imaging studies for diagnostic purposes. Assess, plan, implement and evaluates the care rendered to patients with urgent, emergent or potential health problems.

    Education Dept:

    Educates staff to competence according to standards, regulations, and best practice using a variety of teaching methods. Facilitates achievement of staff role clarity, professional role confidence, and proficiency. Operates as a change agent in the practice and learning environment.

    Emergency Department:

    Responsible for participating in the planning, organization and implementation of education and clinical development of emergency staff. Collaborates with the health care team to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to health care.

    Home Health/Hospice:

    The CWOC RN will administer skilled nursing care to patients at home. Provides care for individuals who have, or will have, a diverting ostomy. Provides wound and skin evaluation and care. This specialized nursing care is given independently and in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team under the direction of and in accordance with the physician’s orders. Functions as an educator for patients/significant others and staff. Precepts staff and students in the specialty.

    Maternal Childcare :

    Provides education to the clinical staff in the specific nursing specialty. Also coordinates the preceptor and orientation programs on the unit in conjunction with the Hospital’s Education Department. Participates in community education programs and may take assigned patients as needed in certain circumstances.

    Nursing Administration:

    The house supervisor is responsible and accountable for the administrative and clinical functions of overall 3-11, 11-7 nursing services. Acts as on-site resource person for hospital-wide problem solving and decision making.

    Management:

    The Professional Practice Coordinator will serve as a leader, mentor and role model to facilitate the development of a professional interdisciplinary practice environment. The Professional Practice Coordinator will collaborate with directors/managers and staff leaders to implement tools/resources that support the scope and processes of professional interdisciplinary practice and quality care. This position will provide leadership to incorporate evidenced based practice and scientific inquiry into the daily practice environment, as well as support Partnership Councils and coordinate the Central Council functions. Chairs Nursing Ancillary CDS to facilitate workflow and maximize the benefits of clinical documentation. Is a member (co-chairs) Nursing Professional Practice Council and acts as a catalyst to drive the ongoing development of professional practice for Nursing.

    Surgery:

    The RN Educator for the Operating Room is a registered nurse with expertise in nursing education who influences the professional growth, development and competence of operating room personnel. The operating room educator is responsible for participating in the planning, organization and implementation of education and clinical development of operating room staff. The educator maintains standards of professional performance required to include ethics, education/competency, quality practice, effective communication, leadership skills, collaboration, and evidence-based practice utilization.
