    JOB SUMMARY: The Nurse Coordinator is responsible for all departmental functions in support of the hospital mission, vision, and facility goals. The Manager identifies the cost-effective systems needed to support the business of the department taking into account business trends, resource availability and changes in customers. This position establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors. The Manager identifies and remedies variances through continuous customer satisfaction data and employee involvement. The Nurse Coordinator works with Senior Management in meeting Facility goals. Oversees Pre-op/PAT; assists as Pre-op/PAT RN as necessary

    Required Skills

    Education

    • Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing.
    • BSN preferred.
    • Two (2) years experience in surgery management that must include PreOp and PAT.
    • Licenses/Certifications/ Registrations
    • Current Texas RN License
    • BLS & ACLS Certification required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
    • Independent decision making skills.
    • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
    • Excellent communication skills with staff and physicians. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Supervises: All staff in Pre-op, PAT Contacts/Interacts with: Physicians, all facility staff, Board of Managers, patients and families. POSITION COMPETENCIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES: Competencies and responsibilities associated with each position are a combination of hospital-wide and department-specific standards. The department specific standards include the competencies appropriate to the ages of the customer served. The employee''s competencies are evaluated on an on-going basis, and formally documented at least annually as part of the Performance Appraisal process. HOSPITAL-WIDE CORE COMPETENCIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES: - Job knowledge/Responsibilities/Productivity

    USPI complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce.  If you are offered this position and must be vaccinated under any applicable law, you will be required to show proof of full vaccination or obtain an approval of a religious or medical exemption prior to your start date.  If you receive an exemption from the vaccination requirement, you will be required to submit to regular testing in accordance with the law.
