  • Responsibilities

    The Director of Finance is responsible for all Finance functions in support of the hospital mission, vision and facility goals.  The director establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies including patients, physicians, associates and vendors.  This position identifies and remedies issues and concerns through continuous customer satisfaction data and employee involvement.

    PRIMARY DUTIES/EXPECTATIONS:

    • Facilitate the completion of monthly close procedures to include review and analysis of financial statements to understand expense drivers, financial risks and opportunities

    • Provide primary support to senior management including board presentations, financial presentations, payer mix analysis, staff management analysis and expense analysis

    • Coordinate internal/external audits and cost report preparation

    • Work closely with outside vendor to ensure accurate and timely billing/collections to include monitoring days in AR, cash/net revenue, A/R aging and credit balances

    • Assist management in identifying areas of opportunity to ensure achievement of established financial and operational objectives to include development and monitoring of cost control strategies

    • Process bi-weekly/off-cycle payroll at facility level

    • Responsible for accounts payable functions at facility level

    • Oversee Finance personnel

    • Effectively communicates with various individuals both internal and external to complete tasks assigned

    • Other duties, commensurate with experience, as a member of the Finance team

    • Primary contact for internal and external tax professionals.

    • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures including internal control requirements.

    • Liaison with corporate accounting management.

    • Responsible for cash management including daily cash balance reporting, collections and cash disbursement and recommend partnership cash distributions.

    • Primary contact for internal and external tax professionals.

    • Coordinate annual budget process

    Required Skills

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a Finance-related field required; MBS or MSF preferred
    • 5+ years of relevant accounting management experience including supervisory responsibility, healthcare industry and/or public company experience preferred
    • Demonstrates competence in management and leadership skills to develop and implement organizational strategies and opportunities for improving hospital growth.
    • Maintain current knowledge and adhere to appropriate regulatory standards such as Joint Commission and Medicare.
    • Ability to analyze data and develop accounting systems to accurately control financial activity within a hospital setting.
    • Effective English communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to effectively present to and respond to questions from senior management
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Software
    • Oracle GL experience preferred
    • Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks
