    SUMMARY: As a UTILITIES CRAFTSMAN, you’ll be working with our Maintenance & Construction team to keep Silver Dollar City running smoothly. Effective troubleshooting is an important part of this position. When the plumbing fails, an air conditioner shuts down or the phones stop working, our guests and employees need to know the glitch will be fixed in a safe and timely manner. We’re looking for hard-working candidates who have bona fide experience with HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Phone Technology or Park Maintenance. While your work might concentrate in one particular skilled trade, it’s important to have a variety of maintenance and repair skills because the job is so diverse.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  include the following though other duties may be assigned

    • Understanding of general industry standards, methods, practices and procedures used in the trades of HVAC and/or Plumbing and/or Electrical and/or Phone Technology
    • General understanding of the maintenance of buildings, service equipment, production equipment, and similar mechanical operations
    • General Understanding of OSHA and safety procedures used in maintenance activities
    • Ability to prepare basic paper records and reports
    • Ability of work independently, as well as cooperatively with all maintenance teams and all other divisional employees and leadership
    • Skilled in the use and care of tools and equipment
    • Ability of perform tasks in one or more skilled trade areas depending on assignment including but not limited to:
      • HVAC
      • Plumbing
      • Electrical
      • Park Maintenance
    • Ability to inspect maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose problems and determine the best feasible way to correct them
    • Ability to dismantle devices and control instruments in order to repair or replace defective parts efficiently
    • Ability to operate appropriate testing equipment in order to test the performance of equipment and defective parts
    • Continuously strive to build knowledge and skills
    • Respond promptly to customer needs, for both guest and employees
    • Follow company policies and procedures
    • Consistently at work and on time
    • Observe safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions;

    Required Skills

    COMPUTER ABILITY: Basic computer operation/navigation skills preferred.

    CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES: Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Missouri Class E Driver’s License or resident state equivalent.  OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour course completion preferred.  Current certification in any related field or equipment-handling certificates desired.

    Required Experience

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School diploma, general education degree (GED) or one to three years related experience and/or technical training in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Continuing education and training by becoming certified in one or more specific skills as determined by leadership.
