    At BMC, the RF Operator assembles needed materials and feeds specified lumber/ material through automated saw. Verifies proper cut and specifications by reviewing house plans. Performs layout, stacks and picks lumber for easy movement to Ready Frame feed to automated saw. Manages and moves Ready Frame components to bundling rollers, arranges packs by house, and unloads packs in designated area for shipping. Ensures quality control standards are met.

     

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    1. Demonstrates a proven understanding of Ready Frame automated saw, ready frame components, and proper blue print reading.
    2. Sustained, proven Ready Frame operator performance above 100 board feet per hour on a standard truss table.
    3. Ability to perform Ready Frame Operator job functions at 300 board feet per hour on automated saw and banding machines.
    4. Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
    5. Assist in setting up and operating machinery to specifications. Performs daily pre-operational check of equipment.
    6. Assemble Ready Frame packs per order specifications.
    7. Check lengths, angles, and grades of raw material.
    8. Transport material to machine, place material in fixture, performs banding operation.
    9. Restack and transport extra material in proper place. May operate a forklift in positioning material.
    10. Work closely with packagers with regards to quality and packaging.
    11. Maintain tools, machinery and equipment. Reports machine and equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
    12. Follow work procedures to meet production schedule.
    13. Assist in housekeeping of assembly area and assure storage area is maintained.
    14. Demonstrate a commitment to the quality improvement process and the philosophy of continuous improvement; identify and respond actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers; participate as a team player in all phases of the organization; and is open and responsive to change.
    15. Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
    16. Adhere to the Company’s safety standards and enforce safety regulations.
    17. Other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills

    1. High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and at least 3 months of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    2. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
    3. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
    4. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent; to draw and interpret bar graphs; and to read and interpret standard unit tape measures.
    5. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
    6. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Required Experience

    1. Construction and/or knowledge or reading blue-prints, and framing.
    2. May require forklift certification.
