POSITION SUMMARY:

Capital Electric is The Electrical Distributor of Choice in the Mid-Atlantic region and a proud member of the Sonepar family. Capital’s Business Data Analyst will ensure the highest level of data is delivered for the purpose of strategically reducing redundancies, improving efficiency and increasing profitability.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Implement data processes (mining, cleansing and integration) for all Capital channels by leveraging analytics tools to identify opportunities and risks
• Extract information from complex data sets to identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns to improve current processes or build new ones
• Perform ad hoc analysis to assist with strategic projects as requested by manager or senior management to inform business decisions
• Capture analytics requirements from internal customers, provide guidance regarding relevance and scope of data to support Capital’s business strategies
• Establish collaborative relationships to expand data knowledge and modernize processes
• Streamline data processes among functional and technical areas by implementing workshops/training in various data platforms (SSM, IMWC, Market Share)
• Improve reporting processes by updating and automating regular ad-hoc excel reports into PowerBI dashboards and workspaces
• Participate in role-based in-depth analysis sessions with leadership team to increase analytics adoption and improve user experience
• Own the design, development, maintenance, and forecasting of ongoing performance metrics, reports, and dashboards to drive Capital KPI’s

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• 2 years of analytics experience.
• 4 years of related experience and/or training; or
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Electrical, Industrial and/or distribution experience preferred but not required.

REQUIREMENTS:

• MS Office skills including advanced skills in Excel with the ability to create, manipulate, and formulate spreadsheets, to include lookups, pivot tables, formulas, charts, and graphics
• MS Office 365 experience including OneDrive, SharePoint and PowerBI
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently.
• Must possess strong planning, organizational and execution skills.
• Must have the ability to set goals and meet deadlines.
• Must demonstrate ownership of assigned responsibilities and ability to get the job done correctly and in a timely manner.
• Must possess a proactive and positive team approach to problem resolution.
• Must have the ability to establish strong working relationships with co-workers and management.

TRAVEL:

• Yes, up to 30% of the time between Capital’s regions.
