    JOB SUMMARY

    The Project Estimator is to provide timely and accurate estimates on their assigned projects and maintain excellent relationship between Dollywood and all contractors, and vendors in a manner consistent with the mission, values, and operating philosophies and standards of the Dollywood Company.

     

     

    SUMMARY OF MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

     

     

    • Ensures that internal project files are kept up to date and accurate.
    • Receive new assignments from the Project Manager.
    • Project estimate communication (local & corporate) at specified intervals to set and maintain expectations.
    • Recruit, qualify, send RFP’s to subcontractors, and labor groups as needed for each project.
    • Communicate daily with the Project Manager to determine progress and timing of site visits as well as client communication regarding expectations on when to expect the estimate.
    • Prepare an initial budget to submit as part of the prebid package.
    • Prepare an initial project schedule to submit as part of the prebid package
    • Work with project manager to finalize contract terms and execution.
    • Prepare turnover package and complete project handoff to Project Manager.
    • Regularly follow up and re-engage as necessary during production to review progress and prepare change orders.
    • Creates, reviews, and shares metrics relating to project execution, bid processing, and contract efficiency.
    • Manages relationships with critical vendors to develop strategic partnerships in future expansions along with existing maintainability.
    • Interfaces with the Product & Planning team both onsite and at PSC to support capital expansions executed by the Dollywood Company Maintenance team.
    • Plans, initiates, and manages timelines for execution of capital projects for multiple sites.
    • Ensures assigned projects have complete and current information on project scope, budget, schedule, and strategies.
    • Periodically prepares reports to include but not limited to downtime, reliability, cost, and efficiency.
    • Management reserves the right to change and/or add to these duties at any time.

    • Able to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret spreadsheets. Able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
    • Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
    • Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
    • Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
    • Able to understand machine prints with dimensions and tolerances as well as read and understand mechanical assembles and associated terminology.
    • Able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
    • Able to perform these operations using units of the Metric system in weight measurement, volume, and distance.

     

     

    Required Experience

    • Must be 21 years of age or older.
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Bachelor’s Degree from four-year College or university preferred.
    • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in project estimating is required.
    • Proficient computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft applications, and other common software.
    • Extensive knowledge of construction and maintenance practices, procedures, and techniques as well as applicable local, state and federal building codes and legislation.
    • Theme park type technical maintenance related environment preferred.
    • Experience operating common office equipment such as: copiers, tablets, calculators, and printers.
    • Must successfully pass a background check, drug test and obtain a TN driver’s license.
