    Job Description

    ANIMAL ORTHO CARE, A DIVISION OF CAERUS CORPORATION, is a veterinary custom bracing company focused on creating customized support braces for companion animals. We are looking for a WEBSITE DESIGNER/DEVELOPER to join our fast-paced team!

    The ideal candidate will be experienced at planning, designing, developing, and managing websites. You will be responsible for both front-end and back-end design and development, including creating, integrating plugins and site optimization. The exact mix of design/development will depend on the individual candidate’s skills; but our rough target is 60% design, 40% development.

    DESIGNER:

    • Collaborate with the team to understand client needs and deliver smart solutions that provide value and optimize usability, business, and technical needs.
    • Create effective UI, UX and visual design deliverables including sitemaps, navigation, wireframes, and the design of marketing and lead-generation focused websites, ecommerce websites, web applications, and occasional print collateral and brand assets.
    • Work closely with our team to create work that not only looks good, but truly works for both our customers and our process. Use responsive design techniques to ensure usability across all devices of every size.
    • Ensure deliverables are of high quality and consistent with creative direction, best practices, and guidelines. Work with managers to ensure team meets deadlines.
    • Communicate clearly when presenting design and UI decisions and gathering feedback, in collaboration with management team.
    • Update existing websites with layouts and designs that fit or improve upon existing standards.

    DEVELOPER:

    • Create clean HTML, CSS, and JS based on project specifications, wireframes, and design files.
    • Build and test responsive, highly customized open-source websites.
    • Work from and contribute to flexible boilerplate themes.
    • Implement and/or extend plugins, modules, libraries, and APIs to customize display and functionality.
    • Test websites for cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility.
    • Learn new CMS, application, Shopify and eCommerce platforms.
    • Work with Google Analytics, Google Reviews, Adobe Creative Suite, and Google Drive.
    • Continuously discover, filter, absorb, and share smart solutions with the team. Provide timely resolutions to reported problems.
    • Other related responsibilities may be assigned as needed to help the company operate efficiently.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Design or related field required.
    • 2+ years of web design or related experience required.
    • 2+ years Shopify theme development experience preferred.
    • Previous experience with Google Analytics and Google Reviews, JavaScript + CSS/HTML5 and Adobe Creative Suite.
    • Experience with creating animation, videography and video editing experience is a plus.
    • Must be comfortable working in an environment with animals present.

    ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

    • Strong web development portfolio demonstrating a working knowledge of clean and efficient coding practices, user experience, and attention to design detail.
    • A self-starter who can work with a team and manage projects independently, while efficiently delegating to and overseeing others.
    • Proven ability to devise creative solutions efficiently and effectively to complex problems.
    • Ability to work quickly when needed, be flexible to changes, and able to strike a strong balance between perfectionism and value for the client.
    • Strong ability to collaborate and assert a point of view positively.
    • Strong attention to detail.
