    Blue Lavender Cafe & Market is a vibrant cafe and restaurant located inside the Nassau Suite Hotel in Miami Beach, FL. Open daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, our full-service menu features organic, healthy, and diverse food options including gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, keto, and traditional selections. We are committed to clean, nourishing food made with premium organic ingredients. In addition to serving hotel guests with room service and rooftop dining, our location includes a small market and gift shop. Open for just over a year, Blue Lavender Cafe is growing and looking for the right culinary leader to help expand our potential.

    Role Description

    Blue Lavender Cafe & Market is seeking a passionate and skilled Chef to lead kitchen operations and inspire culinary excellence. This is a full-time, on-site position responsible for menu creation, food preparation, kitchen team leadership, and quality control. The Chef will work closely with the Cafe Manager and Owner as part of a collaborative and hands-on leadership team.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring consistency and quality in all dishes

    • Develop, test, and implement seasonal menus and new healthy recipes aligned with our brand

    • Manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships to ensure fresh, organic ingredients

    • Supervise, train, and schedule kitchen staff

    • Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness

    • Accommodate special dietary needs (gluten-free, vegan, keto, etc.) with precision and care

    • Support hotel room service and rooftop events as needed

    • Collaborate on menu planning for catering and special events

    • Ensure efficient cost control and portion management

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 3 years of professional culinary experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership role

    • Culinary degree or equivalent certification is required

    • Proven expertise in menu development, healthy food preparation, and recipe creation

    • Strong knowledge of kitchen safety, food handling, and sanitation protocols

    • Experience in inventory control, staff supervision, and kitchen operations

    • Passion for organic, clean eating and wellness-based cuisine

    • High-end restaurant or hospitality background is a plus

    • Experience or interest in pastry and baked goods is a bonus

    • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills

    • Must provide three strong industry references upon request
