The Muse Coffee Company is seeking a hands-on, motivated Cafe Manager to lead daily café operations across both front-of-house and back-of-house. This role is responsible for team leadership, guest experience, food program execution, and maintaining strong operational standards.
This position works directly alongside the team during shifts while helping drive training, inventory management, and overall store performance.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
Lead and support FOH and BOH team members during shifts
Recruit, hire, onboard, and train staff
Provide coaching, accountability, and ongoing development
Maintain team records and support performance management
Store Operations & Guest Experience
Oversee daily café operations and service flow
Ensure high standards for hospitality, quality, and efficiency
Collaborate with the management team to improve systems and procedures
Kitchen & Food Program Oversight
Oversee all food prep, baking, and kitchen operations
Ensure recipes, portioning, and food quality standards are followed
Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and kitchen organization
Support menu improvements and maintain recipe documentation
Inventory & Ordering
Manage food inventory, product ordering, and bi-weekly counts
Monitor waste and adjust prep and pars as needed
Financial & Administrative Duties
Maintain accurate sales and banking records
Track sales trends and identify opportunities for improvement
Marketing & Promotions
Assist with in-store promotions, seasonal launches, and events
Qualifications
Previous kitchen or food service leadership experience preferred
Strong hospitality and guest service mindset
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Ability to train and hold team members accountable
Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, and weekends
Schedule & Compensation
Pay: $22.50/hour + tips (after training)
Bonuses: Quarterly bonus eligibility after 90 days
Hours: 35–40 hours per week
Friday & Saturday availability required during first 90 days
Must be able to work a mix of opening and closing shifts
Occasional overtime may be required
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift and carry kitchen and café supplies
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
