BUDGET/FISCAL MANAGER, OPERATIONS AND FINANCE
The University of Montana invites applications for a BUDGET/FISCAL MANAGER. Under the general direction of the Budget Director, the Budget/Fiscal Manager is responsible for identifying relevant insights and compiling analytical reports that enable all levels of constituents across campus to make sound decisions. This position requires independent judgment with minimal and indirect supervision to provide complex analytical support to planning, budget, and analysis functions within the University Budget Office.
The Budget/Fiscal Manager serves as the technical lead for the office, provides systems analysis and project management tools and techniques. This position will be able to recognize business, compliance and data challenges and identify ways in which technology can facilitate achieving departmental and organizational objectives.
The person assigned to this position is responsible for the supervision and management of classified staff members or student employees.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Management Information Systems, Finance, or related field, plus five (5) years of relevant work experience; or any combination of experience and education.
Ability to maintain effective attention to detail, meeting deadlines, multi-tasking, and prioritizing competing demands.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and see the big picture to identify the appropriate metrics and data application.
Exceptional skills using spreadsheet, database query and financial modeling software.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

In addition to advancing UM’s sustainability efforts, Operations and Finance also provides critical support to Missoula College, as well as Helena College, Montana Tech and UM Western.
