Position Overview
The Calibration Technician will perform routine work related to the calibration, maintenance, and repair of general-purpose measuring and test equipment in the fields of electrical, fluid quantities, mechanical, mass, thermodynamics, time and frequency, and other metrology disciplines. The Calibration Technician is responsible for maintaining detailed and accurate records of all tasks, including calibration certificates.
Major Responsibilities
- Calibrate, maintain, and repair general-purpose measuring and test equipment in diverse areas (electrical, fluid quantities, mechanical, mass, thermodynamics, time and frequency, and other metrology disciplines).
- Perform all work in accordance with established procedures and company policies regarding quality, ethics, integrity, and standards of business conduct.
- Maintain consistent and steady hand coordination for pipette calibration.
- Enhance quality through regulatory compliance, operating procedures, participation in quality audits, accurate documentation, and adherence to current Good Documentation Practices (cGDP).
- Effectively use computers and required software or automation systems in daily responsibilities.
- Accurately document and report all activities, including calibration reports and expense reports, as required by company procedures.
- Promote safety of self, fellow employees, customers, and the environment at all times.
- Maintain various types of equipment in good working condition.
- Contribute to planning work, including recommending and implementing improved methods.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office, including Word and Access, with an emphasis on Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to demonstrate competency in assigned calibration tasks.
- Professional communication skills, including effectively resolving customer issues and diffusing conflict.
- Ability to work independently and flexibly in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Strong troubleshooting and complex problem-solving abilities.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Some day travel within a 20-mile radius of Columbus, Ohio is required. Extra mileage above normal commuting distance will be reimbursed.
- Associate degree in a related field, one (1) year of applicable experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

$21 - $22.50 / hr
