California Aseptic Beverages, a growing beverage company located in Fontana has an immediate opening for a Quality Assurance Manager. This is an excellent opportunity with competitive salary and great benefits.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for developing, implementing and managing food safety and quality programs, procedures and systems that ensure the highest level of food safety and quality for products and ensures all appropriate certification requirements are met. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, products produced or distributed by the company, raw materials sourced from suppliers.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Implements, maintains and ensures compliance with all food safety, quality, and regulatory programs/requirements, including, but not limited to food safety program (HACCP), food quality program, cleaning & sanitation program, GMPs, pest control program, calibration program, allergen program, FDA, Weights and Measures, California Department of Public Health, SQFI and customer requirements.
· Maintains and updates cannery requirements and regulations, including the pH control program.
· Works closely with sales to manage customer expectations and develop action plans to address issues.
· Works closely with operation and plant management to identify and implement strategies to reduce consumer complaints and improve product quality.
· Ensures the plant staff is aware of their responsibility to report food safety problems to plant management with authority to initiate action, including evaluation of the potentially impacted product or process.
· Communicates to relevant personnel all information essential to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of food safety and quality programs.
· Oversees damages, holds and customer complaints and conducts root cause analysis and implements appropriate corrective actions.
· Maintains raw ingredient and material specifications and ensures compliance to the appropriate standard(s).
· Maintains customer formulas and oversees changes as they occur.
· Initiates mock recall activities, records findings and implements corrective actions if necessary
· Develop and oversee continuous improvement in process product inspection methods and standards.
· Investigates problematic allowance deviation performance and provide recommendations.
· Oversees Batching, Sanitation, and QC lab Departments.
· Prepares and submits for approval (management) and payment (accounting) in proper format and with adequate back-up, all quality requests for credits due to customer.
· Maintains QC staff performance results in association with HR by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees. Shall prepare planning, monitoring, and appraising of job results.
· Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION AND/OR YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor of Science degree – preferably in food science or related field
· At least 5 years supervisory/management experience in the industry
B. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS (APPLICABLE TO POSITION)
· SQF Practitioner
· HAACP Certificate
· Experience as an Audit Leader-Achieving a minimum score of 90.
