Job Summary
California Coast Truck Repair is a predominantly a full service/repair diesel shop (some gas motorhomes and generators) located in Santee, CA. We service and repair domestic light duty diesel trucks, all medium/heavy duty diesel trucks/tractors, and motorhome chassis (no body service). We specialize in, but are not limited to, ALL diagnostics, ALL electrical, ALL drivetrain service/repair, ALL powertrain service/repair... etc.. This is a hard working, non-stop shop that is very personable with a type of "old soul" vibe. We treat people like people, we handle our business, and we get shit done! This is a very fast growing shop, est. 2019, and have taken off because of we are known for figuring out the hard stuff. We are the "last resort", "the best", "unbelievable", these are just some of what people tell us. Our back story is rare and can be told when we meet.

We are looking for a well rounded Diesel Mechanic to join our busy repair shop. A lot of experience in multiple fields goes a long way here. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will assist our customers by diagnosing and repairing issues with vehicles’ performance and function, depending on your level of expertise.
Since we work on so many different types of vehicles, this is a very challenging job. It's hard work, and I know it. As a Diesel Mechanic, you must have an in-depth understanding of all vehicle systems and components. You will also be responsible for maintaining repair shop equipment, preparing cost estimates, and maintaining a welcoming environment.
The ideal candidate is skilled in communicating with the office admin and very rarely customers you will need to be able to explain vehicle issues clearly and concisely and provide valuable advice.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair vehicles coming into the shop
Carry out routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as tire rotations, oil changes, and brake pad replacements
Conduct in-depth vehicle inspections of all systems, including engine, transmission, and brakes
Create repair estimates and timelines and convey information to customers in an easy-to-understand manner
Maintain accurate repair shop records and paperwork
Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED is required
Associate degree or completion of an automotive service technician training program is preferred
Automotive Service Excellence/ASE certification or Society of Automotive Engineers/SAE certification is preferred
Strong customer service and communication skills are required
